The Village of Burk’s Falls is proud to offer a variety of parks, trails, recreation spaces, and waterfront access points that encourage residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors and experience the natural beauty of our community. Whether taking a walk along the Heritage River Walk, spending time at one of our local parks, enjoying recreation fields, or exploring local cycling routes, these spaces provide opportunities to stay active, connect with nature, and gather with family and friends. These outdoor spaces are maintained with care by the Village’s Public Works Department, whose ongoing work helps ensure that parks, trails, and recreational areas remain welcoming, safe, and accessible throughout the year. From quiet riverside views to active recreation spaces, Burk’s Falls offers outdoor experiences that reflect the character of our community and the natural landscape that surrounds it.

Walking Trails
The Village of Burk’s Falls offers scenic walking opportunities that allow residents and visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the Magnetawan River and the surrounding landscape. The Heritage River Walk provides a peaceful and accessible route through the heart of the community and is a favorite spot for walking, relaxing, and taking in the river views.
Heritage River Walk
The Heritage River Walk follows the Magnetawan River through the Village, offering a pleasant pathway for walking and enjoying the outdoors. The trail connects key areas of the community and provides beautiful views of the river along the way.

Parks & Green Space
Stan Darling Park
Stan Darling Park is one of the Village’s most recognized gathering spaces. Located along the Magnetawan River, the park provides open green space and scenic waterfront views, making it a popular spot for community events, casual recreation, and enjoying the outdoors.
Knight Brothers Park
Knight Brothers Park is one of the Village’s primary recreation areas. The park is home to the walking track, ball diamond, skate park, dog park, and one of the entrances to the Heritage River Walk. It also serves as the location of the Burk’s Falls Fall Fair, hosted each year by the Agricultural Society, making it an important space for both recreation and community traditions.


Playgrounds & Recreation Fields
The Village of Burk’s Falls provides outdoor recreation spaces where residents and visitors can enjoy sports, play, and community programming throughout the year. These areas support youth activities, recreation programs, and informal outdoor play.
Village Playground & Youth Basketball Court
The Village playground is located behind the Burk’s Falls Health Centre, with access from Main Street. This location features a full playground for children as well as a youth basketball court, providing a welcoming space for families and young people to gather and enjoy outdoor recreation.
Knight Brothers Field of Dreams – Baseball Diamond
Located at Knight Brothers Park, the Knight Brothers Field of Dreams baseball diamond is home to many local recreation activities and community programs. The Village’s Summer Recreation Program operates from this location and uses the field for a variety of youth activities and events.

Dog Park
The Village dog park is located within Knight Brothers Park and provides a dedicated space where dogs can run, play, and socialize in a safe and welcoming environment. The new and improved dog park, completed in 2025, was made possible through a generous donation from Savour This… Artisan Bakery, reflecting the strong community spirit that supports local recreation spaces.
The dog park features a fully fenced area designed for off-leash use, along with waste bag station to help keep the space clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Visitors are reminded that:
- Dogs must be supervised at all times.
- Pet owners are responsible for picking up after their dogs using the provided waste bag station.
- The dog park is the only location within the Village where dogs are permitted to be off leash.

Cycling Routes
Burk’s Falls is a welcoming stop for cyclists exploring the Almaguin Highlands and surrounding region. Quiet rural roads and scenic landscapes make the Village a great place to start, end, or pause during a cycling trip.
Cyclists travelling through the community can enjoy local roads and connect with regional cycling routes that showcase the natural beauty of the area.

Waterfront and Boat Launch
The Village of Burk’s Falls provides public access to the
Magnetawan River through the municipal boat launch located at the Riverfront near
Hwy 520 / 170 Ryerson Crescent, beside the
Burk’s Falls Welcome Centre.
This launch provides a convenient starting point for exploring the Magnetawan River system by boat, personal watercraft, canoe, kayak, or paddleboard.



River Recreation
From the launch, boaters and paddlers can travel downstream toward Lake Cecebe, with approximately 36 kilometres of scenic river paddling and boating connecting the Village to the lake.
The Magnetawan River is a popular destination for boating, paddling, and fishing, offering peaceful stretches of water, abundant wildlife, and beautiful natural scenery along the shoreline.
Launch Features
The municipal boat launch is designed to accommodate a variety of watercraft and provides access for:
- Motorboats
- Canoes
- Kayaks
- Fishing boats
- Personal watercraft
- Paddleboards
Amenities at the site include:
- Launch ramp with dockage
- Limited parking
- Picnic tables
- Washrooms (Adjacent Burk’s Falls Welcome Centre)
- Lighting for early morning or evening use
Seasonal Information
The boat launch is typically available from May through October, depending on seasonal conditions. The launch area is closed during the winter months, as ice conditions on the Magnetawan River can be unsafe due to strong currents.

- Practice responsible pet ownership, including leash and animal control requirements where applicable
These outdoor spaces are maintained by the Village’s Public Works Department, whose ongoing work helps ensure parks, trails, and recreation areas remain accessible and enjoyable throughout the year.
