Almaguin Highlands Health Centre

Located at 150 Huston Street, the Almaguin Highlands Health Centre offers quality health care services in the historical building formally the Red Cross Hospital. Originally built in 1949 the Village of Burk’s Falls took ownership of the facility from Muskoka Algonquin Health Care, when the facility was closed in 2011. Currently offering health and medical related services to the Almaguin communities, the Centre is a community hub for health care.

North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit

Looking for information on quitting smoking, immunization or other health related topics, visit the Public Health website for additional resources and assistance. The Village of Burk’s Falls Public Health Office is a closed to the public unless by appointment. 

Water bottles for private system testing are still available by a new self serve unit inside the front door of 17 Copeland Street, Burk’s Falls. Please refer to the Health Unit's Private Drinking Water Testing for details on how and where to have your private water tested. 

Located just inside the door residents will find a direct telephone line to the Health Unit which will connect you to the main office in North Bay, it will also connect you to staff inside the Burk’s Falls location when you have a scheduled appointment.

Looking for a family physician?

The Almaguin Highlands Health Centre is home to the Burk's Falls Family Health which includes four primary care physicians, a Nurse-Practitioner, Nurses, a social worker and administration staff.  The team provide services to the residents of Burk's Falls along with four other catchment municipalities. If you would like to inquiry after a family physician please contact their office directly 705-382-4020.

If you are unable to find a physician taking on new patients or need care while on a wait list, please consider Ontario Virtual Care Clinic.  This free service will, with registration, place the caller in a virtual waiting room where you will be connected with the first available family practitioner.
