Recreation Programs

The Village of Burk's Falls Recreation Coordinator along with the Recreation Committee strive to provide programs that will engage youth, adults and mature adults in a variety of non-competitive actives, that encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.  Programs are offered throughout the year taking advantage of the Recreation Fields and our Community Arena which can facilitate a variety of recreation programs.  

Try it Saturday

Have you ever been interested in a program, sport or activity but haven't wanted to fully commit without trying first, well Try it Saturdays is for you.  The Recreation Coordinator has arranged a variety of activities which take place on Saturdays, providing the opportunity for youth and adults to try out a program before committing to team or series of workshops.  

Summer Try it Saturdays for the summer and fall have come to an end, however keep visiting the Village's website as upcoming events continue to be posted. 

Additional Try it Saturdays will be announced once the program or workshop is confirmed.  For more details please contact Lacey, Recreation Coordinator, 705-382-3138 ext 231.

Kids/Youth Programs

Programs facilitated through the Recreation Committee include; 

  • T-ball ages 4 – 7 years 
  • Baseball ages 8 - 12 
  • Soccer ages 4 - 12 
  • 3 on 3 hockey elementary school age 
  • Indoor pond hockey elementary school age

Adult Programs

In addition to these youth programs the Village supports several local organizations and groups who host additional programs throughout the year for both youth and adults, these include;

  •  “Old Timers” hockey 
  • Snow pitch with the Agricultural Society 
  • Special Olympics Baseball 
  • Weekly Euchre with Young at Heart Senior Centre 
  • Burk’s Falls Skating Club (Canskate)

Adult Fitness Programs

Join the Village as either a drop in or 6 week committed participant in our "Get off Your Feet" fitness programs.  Facilitated by Certified Instructors, the classes offer a range of low to high intensity cardio sessions combined with strength training.  At the end of each 6 week session, the final class is a Yoga session, where participants will learn to lengthen and strength muscles while gaining flexibility. 
Sessions run every Wednesday starting at 7:00pm, in the Karl Crozier room in the Armour, Ryerson and Burk's Falls Arena.  Drop in fees are $8.00 per person or a complete 6 week session is $40.00.  Come on by and try it for a night, bring a friend and get off your feet!
