Recreation Programs

The Village of Burk's Falls Recreation Coordinator along with the Recreation Committee strive to provide programs that will engage youth, adults and mature adults in a variety of non-competitive actives, that encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.  Programs are offered throughout the year taking advantage of the Recreation Fields and our Community Arena which can facilitate a variety of recreation programs.

Almaguin Amazing Race

 Watch for the third annual Almaguin Amazing Race to make it's way to Almaguin in 2020.


Burk's Falls Day Camp 2019

 On behalf of the Burk's Falls Recreation Committee and Council we would like to thank everyone for attending our Summer 2019 Day Camp, camp is now closed for the season. Join in the fun and register your child or children next year for this fun and exciting program that will keep our community youth engaged and active.  The program offers a variety of activities from crafts, active sports both indoor and outdoor and a variety of team building activities to promote teamwork and inclusiveness.     

Try it Saturday

Have you ever been interested in a program, sport or activity but haven't wanted to fully commit without trying first.  The Recreation Coordinator is interested in hearing from you, contact Lacey to share your thoughts on what activities you would like to try, or would you like to offer programming to help introduce residents to something new, we'd love to hear from you too.  Programs can be run inside or out and for a variety of ages.

2019 Indoor Sports

Indoor Soccer

The Village of Burk's Falls has hosted indoor soccer during the Arenas ice-out season since the 2018.  This program will runs on a first come first serve basis with a limit of 20 participants per age group.   Please watch for the 2020 season registration in the fall of 2020.

Summer Recreation Programs

Soccer, Soft-ball and T-ball

The Village Recreation Coordinator along with the Recreation Committee offer outdoor programs at the Burk's Falls Recreation Fields located that 140 Dimsdale Street or at the Armour, Ryerson and Burk's Falls Community Area at 220 Centre Street during the summer months.  These programs have closed for the season, please contact the Village spring 2020 for details for our next out door soccer, soft-ball and T-ball programs.

Adult Programs

Group Fitness 2019
Join Taylor as she returns to the Village to instruct group fitness classes at the ARBF Community Arena, beginning in November.  Download the participant health form and the waiver, register at the Village of Burk's Falls or do a drop in at the Arena.

Archery 
Beginning Monday November 18th for a total of five weeks, the Village will be hosting an introduction to archery from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.  Open to participants 5 and up, you will have the opportunity to learn the basics of archery, improve your current skills, participate in weekly challenges and meet new people.   Hosted at the ARBF Memorial Arena, 220 Centre Street the Karl Krozier room, equipment will be supplied along with qualified instructors on site. 

There will be no drop in's for this program as the program will offer non-competitive challenges as the weeks progress.   Stop in the office for additional details and to sign up.  Cost is $25.00 for all five weeks

In addition to the youth programs the Village supports several local organizations and groups who host additional programs throughout the year for both youth and adults, these include;

  •  “Old Timers” hockey 
  • Snow pitch with the Agricultural Society 
  • Special Olympics Baseball 
  • Weekly Euchre with Young at Heart Senior Centre 
  • Burk’s Falls Skating Club (Canskate)
