Recreation Programs

The Village of Burk's Falls Recreation Coordinator along with the Recreation Committee strive to provide programs that will engage youth, adults and mature adults in a variety of non-competitive actives, that encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.  Programs are offered throughout the year taking advantage of the Recreation Fields and our Community Arena which can facilitate a variety of recreation programs.

Archery 2020 Program Registration Closed

The January 2020 archery program registration is now closed, however interested participants are welcome to join the September Archery program.  Register early to not miss out, class is limited to 25 participants per age group. 

There will be no drop in's for this program as the program will offer non-competitive challenges as the weeks progress.   Stop in the office for additional details and to sign up.  Cost is $30.00 for all six weeks

Pickleball begins February 24th, 2020

Pickleball is a great sport for all ages, it provides a low impact competitive game for kids to seniors.  Similar to badminton, tennis and ping pong, Pickleball is fun for the whole family.  Beginning Monday February 24th for a total of 6 weeks, at a cost of $30.00 per six week registration.

Adult Indoor Soccer begins April 9th, 2020

Indoor soccer will be available beginning April 9th, 2020. Indoor soccer helps keep community active during some of the winter months when being active can be challenging.  Indoor soccer allows all participants to come out and scrimmage while staying active and improving your soccer skills.

Ball Hockey begins April 9th, 2020

Our Ball Hockey program offers a chance to get back into the game with scrimmages each night.

Badminton begins April 7th, 2020

Our badminton program is a chance to learn the basic skills and play against other local players who are looking to maintain an active lifestyle in a fun, non-competitive environment.  Badminton takes place on the upper level of the Burk's Falls Arena where players have ample space to play, laugh and enjoy.  Interested in playing but unable to commit to a regular schedule of games, join for a drop in fee of $7.00 per game.

 Watch for the third annual Almaguin Amazing Race to make it's way to Almaguin in 2020.


Burk's Falls Day Camp 2020

 On behalf of the Burk's Falls Recreation Committee and Council we would like to thank everyone for attending our Summer 2019 Day Camp, camp is now closed for the season. Join in the fun and register your child or children next year for this fun and exciting program that will keep our community youth engaged and active.  The program offers a variety of activities from crafts, active sports both indoor and outdoor and a variety of team building activities to promote teamwork and inclusiveness.

Have you ever been interested in a program, sport or activity but haven't wanted to fully commit without trying first.  The Recreation Coordinator is interested in hearing from you, contact Lacey to share your thoughts on what activities you would like to try, or would you like to offer programming to help introduce residents to something new, we'd love to hear from you too.  Programs can be run inside or out and for a variety of ages.

Indoor Sports


Summer Recreation Programs

Soccer, Soft-ball and T-ball begins June 10th, 2020

The Village Recreation Coordinator along with the Recreation Committee offer outdoor programs at the Burk's Falls Recreation Fields located that 140 Dimsdale Street or at the Armour, Ryerson and Burk's Falls Community Area at 220 Centre Street during the summer months.  These programs have closed for the season, please contact the Village spring 2020 for details for our next out door soccer, soft-ball and T-ball programs.

Adult Programs

Group fitness will return in the fall of 2020, please contact the Recreation Coordinator for details, 705-382-3138 ext 231.


In addition to the youth programs the Village supports several local organizations and groups who host additional programs throughout the year for both youth and adults, these include;
  •  “Old Timers” hockey 
  • Snow pitch with the Agricultural Society 
  • Special Olympics Baseball 
  • Weekly Euchre with Young at Heart Senior Centre 
  • Burk’s Falls Skating Club (Canskate)
