COVID-19 Summer Impacts COVID-19 Summer Impacts

June 1, 2020

After much discussion Council has come to the difficult decision to cancel some summer programming and to keep certain facilities closed for the summer.

Due to COVID 19, the Province declared a health emergency and made several restrictive Orders preventing the opening of several industries that also affect some municipal services.

The health and safety of residents and staff is Council’s priority and have lead to the final decision to close and/or cancel several summer activities.  Despite the Province’s Phase 1 of recovery being implemented there is no indication when Phase 2 will begin, leaving the Village with no concrete dates to plan for and with a short programming season already, as difficult as it is, a decision needed to be made in a timely manner.  The restrictions of no gathering of people in groups of five or more and staying 2 meters apart are still in affect.  The Provincial Emergency has been extended to June 9, 2020

While many sites within the Village remain open for your use as individuals and families please note there are no cleaning protocols in place and you should take every precaution to ensure your use is safe.  Please do remember to keep your social distancing practices in place while outside of your home and continue to maintain your health precautions, such as wearing masks and washing your hands as often as possible.

Below is a list of what is open, closed or cancelled.  Please stay healthy and thank you for following the restrictions set in place to keep everyone safe.
