NOTICE TO ALL
ARMOUR TOWNSHIP
WATER USERS
BEGINNING APRIL 1ST, 2008 THROUGH TO APRIL 30, 2008 THE VILLAGE OF
BURK’S FALLS WILL BE ARRANGING INSTALLATION OF REMOTE WATER METERS TO
ALL ARMOUR TOWNSHIP WATER CUSTOMERS.
In order to comply with the Ministry of the Environment directives, the
Village will be contacting each homeowner in Armour Township who is
connected to the water system to arrange for installation of a new
remote water meter
EACH HOMEOWNER WILL BE REQUIRED TO ENSURE THAT THE VILLAGE STAFF HAVE
CLEAR ACCESS TO THE WATER LINE AS IT COMES INTO YOUR HOME TO ENABLE
CONNECTION OF THE NEW REMOTE WATER METER. Village Staff are not
responsible for clearing access to the water line in your home.
Please ensure you arrange for installation of this meter by April 30,
2008.
The Village office has available copies of the CMHC publication
Household Guide to Water Efficiency. This publication outlines water use
and conservation tips for the household.
As an incentive to save water, the Village of Burk’s Falls will pay
residents $40.00 per unit for each low flush toilet or horizontal axis
clothes washer, up to $ 10.00 for each low flow showerhead (max 9.5
litres/min), low flow kitchen aerator and low flow bathroom aerator.
Residents are required to submit a copy of their bill of purchase for
our review, and once the Village staff have verified the installation of
this equipment the refund will be arranged.
For those customers who are serviced with Natural Gas hot water heaters
the Village has available a Free Energy Saving Kit provided by Union
Gas. This kit includes: 1 low flow massage showerhead, 1 low flow
kitchen swivel aerator, 1 low flow bathroom aerator, 1 roll of Teflon
tape and 2 meters of foam pipe insulation. Customers are required to
sign a Natural Gas Verification Tracking Sheet, including their address
and telephone number for confirmation by Union Gas.
