Industrial/Village Utilities & Services:

The Village of Burk's Falls is located 165 miles north of Toronto on Hwy. 11 corridor between Huntsville and North Bay at the junction of Highways 11 and 520 in the District of Parry Sound. The Village is situated 55 miles south of North Bay and 20 miles north of Huntsville. Burk's Falls is 780 acres with 435 households. [Maps]
Although amalgamation is being discussed, it is likely that the 'current local government status' will remain in effect for a few years to come.
Water services on a metered basis. Currently we have 2 deep artesian wells with average daily capacity of 120,000 gallons and an average daily consumption of 90,000. Water is provided by two Aquifers, operated by the Ontario Clean Water Agency.
Hydro, supplied by the Lakeland Power Co.  7200 and 44 KVA lines available. (subject to negotiations)
Natural Gas is within the Village.
Curbside garbage and recycling pick up (non-industrial).
Water & Sewer Lines. (subject to negotiations)
10 Acres currently available for Industrial Development.
Fire Protection: The Burk's Falls & District Fire Department is a volunteer Fire Department with 21 firefighters. The Village is equipped with hydrants to provide fire protection.
Health care: The Muskoka Parry Sound Health Unit have an office in the Village.
A medical clinic, Doctors, physiotherapy office, homecare.
The Burk's Falls and District Health Centre provides 24 hour urgent care, 6 beds, nursing care, meals on wheels programs.
There are two financial institutions in the Village, Royal Bank of Canada and the Kawartha Credit Union, Parry Sound-Muskoka Division.

*1 Burk's Falls Water Power Corp. sells power to the Ontario grid. However, the Village is partnered with the Lakeland Power Co. to supply energy to the village. 7200 for normal use and 44KVA lines for industrial use.

*2 Lofthouse Brass located in Burk’s Falls in 1978. This brass forging business employs 150 employees and operates in an approximate 50,000 sq. ft. building. Although the majority of their products are exported to the U.S., their proximity to Hwy 11 has minimized any transportation issues.

*3 Nu-Tech Windows is currently expanding their operation for the fourth time since starting up in 1995. A  showroom and office has been added in the fall of 2002. They currently employ over 16 people.

*4 The Lawrence plant is currently under-going new multi-development.
