Issue: The Armour, Ryerson and Burk’s Falls Arena Board are facing a serious challenge in that critical work must be done to prolong the life of the local arena.

Background: An engineering study has been completed with cost estimates reported in the range of $850,000 to $1,100,000. The high end cost would enable year round ice which in turn would open the doors to improved economic opportunities such as summer hockey and figure skating camps.

The Challenge: The Board is not in a position to afford the entire cost but feels very confident that with shared funding with Federal and Provincial government, the community would support a capital fundraising campaign to raise their third of the total cost.
